The Centre for Development Studies (CDS) invites applications for admission to its PhD programme in Economics. Candidates with a post-graduate or equivalent degree in any discipline and who have qualified UGC-NET for admission to PhD programmes, in accordance with the prevailing UGC Regulations, are eligible to apply.
ELIGIBILITY
Candidates must possess the minimum eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualifications as mentioned in the prospectus and must have qualified for NET examination (i.e., Category 1. JRF qualified candidates, Category 2. Candidates qualified for Assistant Professorship without JRF, Category 3. Candidates neither qualified for JRF nor for Assistant Professorship but eligible for admission to PhD only).
Percentile of NET examination of June 2025 onwards will be taken into account for being eligible to apply for the academic year 2026-27. Previous NET percentiles/scores will not be considered.
JRF qualified candidate is also eligible to apply under NET category as per preference.

Commencement of PhD programme (tentative): September 02, 2026
