Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Thiruvananthapuram announces the vacancy for a Post-Doctoral research position in its NRPPD unit. NRPPD at CDS, funded by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, undertakes policy-oriented research on socio-economic aspects of India’s plantation sector. The Post-Doctoral researcher would work with and be mentored by the coordinator of the unit to achieve the objectives of the unit. The researcher would be involved in various activities of the unit such as conducting research, organising training programmes and workshops, preparing databases and policy briefs, liaising with the Ministry and the Commodity Boards.
Essential Qualification: –
Candidates must have PhD in Economics submitted or awarded within the last five years
Desired Qualifications: –
PhD preferably with a specialisation in Agricultural Economics. Quantitative data analysis using software packages such as STATA, field-based data collection, good command over English, interpersonal skills and team work are needed to function in this position.
Contract and Compensation: –
Selected candidate will be offered a contractual appointment for a period of one year with a consolidated monthly salary equivalent to entry level Assistant Professor (6th CPC) at CDS. The contract will be considered for extension after evaluation.
