This is the third annual conference of the Indian Society for the History of Economic Thought (ISHET). ISHET has been established to revive teaching and research in the sub-field of history of economic thought (HET) in India.
ISHET 2026 will be held at the Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Thiruvananthapuram on 10th and 11th of October 2026.
The keynote lecture will be delivered by Harro Maas, who is Professor Emeritus in History and Philosophy of Economics at the Centre Walras-Pareto for the History of Economic and Political Thought at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.
Papers relating to all aspects (individuals, texts, methods, teaching, themes) of the history of economic thought were invited through an open call. Close to 90 papers will be presented across 2 days with 5 parallel sessions.
A pre-conference workshop has been organised in association with Young Scholars Initiative (YSI) to introduce students to research and publishing in the history of economic thought. Around 20 participants have been selected for the pre-conference workshop.
