National Conference on Development and Structural Transformation in India: Evidence and Policy was  conducted at the Centre in collaboration with CDSAA

The Centre, in collaboration with CDS Alumni Association, organised a two-day National Conference on “Development and Structural Transformation in India: Evidence and Policy” on 25–26 September 2026. The conference focused on the importance of empirical evidence in understanding India’s economic and social transformation. Discussions examined various aspects of development, including structural changes in the economy, employment and livelihoods, productivity, inequality, regional development, and emerging policy challenges. The deliberations highlighted the need to connect academic research with policy formulation and implementation.

The conference provided a platform for scholars and researchers to present their research findings and engage in critical discussions on contemporary development issues. The sessions encouraged interdisciplinary perspectives and facilitated an exchange of ideas on the opportunities and constraints shaping India’s development trajectory.
