2nd PhD Colloquium: 5-7 Feb 2026
Crossroads 2026 was inaugurated on 5 February 2026 by Prof. C. Veeramani, Director of the Centre for Development Studies (CDS). Dr. Amartya Paul, Faculty Coordinator of Crossroads 2026, welcomed the participants. In his inaugural address, the Director emphasised the importance of such student-led academic interactions, noting that they enable participants to engage, discuss, and learn from one another, while also recognising that there is no one-size-fits-all solution in research.
The first day began with two panel sessions on “Technology, Identity and Power” and “Firm Dynamics and Performance,” chaired by Prof. Devika J and Prof. Beena P. L. respectively. The event continued until 7 February with a series of engaging academic interactions on themes including Agriculture and Rural Development, Development and Vulnerability, Economics of Climate Change, Labour Markets and Outcomes, along with expert-led special sessions. Scholars from distinguished institutes across the country participated in the event.
