February 10th marks the death anniversary of K.N. Raj (1924-2010), the eminent economist, development scholar, policymaker, and institution builder. In late 2024 the Kerala government declared the day to be Development Researcher’s Day. This is the context of the symposium on Feb 10, 2026.
In the symposium, 9 invited speakers will share their thoughts on several themes regarding the interface of development research and practice. Between them, the invited speakers have considerable practitioner experience across state and non-state sectors as well as diverse aspects of development (environment, health, education, and so on). Each of them has also been involved in research and has keenly observed the interface between research and practice.
