His current research interests include fiscal policy and fiscal federalism, macroeconomic policy and modelling, development economics and governance. He continues to publish papers in refereed professional journals. He also writes a regular column for the financial newspaper Mint and occasionally in other newspapers. He is a Life Member of the Indian Econometric Society
