Professor K.N. Raj, the founding father of CDS, was a builder of institutions and a visionary who strived to improve the quality of teaching and research in economics in Kerala and elsewhere in the country. The KN Raj Teaching and Fellowship Programme aims to improve the curriculum and teaching of Economics in Colleges and University Departments across India, particularly in Kerala. This is in response to a felt need to improve the quality of economics education at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Teaching Innovations Programme in Economics (TIPE) is a component of the K N Raj Teaching and Fellowship Programme at Centre for Development Studies (CDS) based a generous grant made available by the Government of Kerala.. TIPE aims to strengthen the economics education by providing week long intensive training on specific basic courses.
