The CDS Guest House is in the distinctive architectural tradition of Laurie Baker, who conceived the campus. The 14 rooms in two buildings located close to the cafeteria are double occupancy. We provide standard facilities in each. Guests have access to wifi and to a spacious living room with a television.
The older of the two buildings bears the imprints of Baker’s original style that combines effective use of space and light with a sense of intimacy. This building has nine rooms. Four rooms in the superior category are on the ground floor and have balconies that face the thickly wooded low lying area of campus. In the standard category are five duplex rooms on the first floor that are not air conditioned but have high ceilings; all except one have balconies. The rooms enjoy ample ventilation and remain cool even in summer. The five standard category rooms in the newly constructed building are all comfortable and are fitted with air conditioning.
Distinguished visitors are housed in a visitor’s cottage very close to the Open Air Auditorium. Located on the elevated part of the campus, it affords a good view of the gently sloping terrain and has greenery at the back. The cottage is fully furnished, air conditioned and fitted with amenities including a kitchenette and is convenient for a longer duration residence.
