CDS Contribution to the Megafloods of 2018

CDS community had resolved to participate in the reconstruction efforts of Government of Kerala in three ways:

1.Donation of Rs. 1 million to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). The cheque was handed over to Dr. T.M.Thomas Isaac, Hon’ble Minister for  Finance, Government of Kerala on Monday, the 17th of September 2018 during a function at CDS.

3.CDS is initiating a series of macro and micro studies to enhance our knowledge of the needs of various types of communities which were adversely affected by the recent floods. The studies done in the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) methodology will be completed by November 30. The case studies selected are:

a.Two indigenous handicraft industries having geographical indication.
b.One MSME industry employing migrant labourers.
c.One major tourist spot and a centre of plantations.
